Exercice A :

beautiful : more beautiful

hot : hotter

exotic : more exotic

dry : drier

rich : richer

large : larger

interesting : more interesting

delicious : more delicious

good : better

small : smaller

Exercice B :

Mike's ancestors were happier in the USA than in Italy. They weren't richer and their house was smaller, but they had a better and more interesting life !

Explications :

Adjectifs courts : adjectif + er (rich => richer)

Adjectifs courts qui doublent leur consonne : (hot => hotter)

Adjectifs longs : more + adjectif (interesting => more interesting)

Adjectifs qui finissent par "y" : adjectif + i + er (dry => drier)

Exceptions : good => better, bad => worse, far => farther
